Coming Up

Here’s what’s coming up next.  Consider signing-up to help – we can ALWAYS use more hands!  (select item for more detail)

As part of our Faith In Action programs we are holding our Annual Coat Drive for the Church and Catholic Charities.

For approximately 6 weeks, starting around Labor Day weekend; there are 2 Boxes located at St. Francis of Assisi where parishioners and the community can drop off coats that will be taken to Catholic Charities office here in Castle Rock on Wilcox Street. One of the boxes is located in the Narthex and the other is outside of Assisi Hall.

The role of the Knights and our Council is to periodically collect the coats in the boxes and take them down to Catholic Charities any morning between Monday and Thursday. Right now we have one Knight that has committed to checking after mass on Sunday and taking them to CC. We are asking if there are any other Knights that would be willing to help out in this project by periodically checking the Boxes at the church and collecting them to take to CC.

As Fall is approaching the boxes will be filling up more frequently and we do not want them to overflow if possible. So if any Knights would be willing to help out on this, please let Bart Keller or Ron Polomsky know.

Please prayerfully consider helping out if you can.  Contact Ron Polomsky:  970-691-6969 for further details.

On Saturday, October 19th, the Knights will have our annual fall football outing and tailgate picnic at the Air Force Academy Stadium.  This will be a big in-state game pitting the Falcons against the Colorado State Rams.  We have a block of 50 seats reserved in section M13 just inside the North gate, with our tailgate space again conveniently located just outside that gate; Our tailgate spot we have reserved is parking Lot 5, Row 1, Space 10 .  Here is the link with game information and where you may select your seat from among 3 rows and pay by credit card.

Tickets are $28.28, which is a 10% group discount for the Knights and this also includes your parking fee.  This block of seats will be held for us until October 12th, at which time the unsold seats may be released to the general public.  We highly encourage you to purchase tickets as soon as possible, because if we approach 50 tickets sold, the AFA ticket office has given us the option to reserve additional seats in that section. Bring family and friends.  Kickoff is at 6pm because this will be a nationally televised game. Weather permitting, you can expect an F-16 fighter jet flyover and stadium jump-in by the AFA cadets skydiving team.  Our tailgate picnic will start around 3, and you’ll soon see a SignUp Genius where you can sign up so we can count mouths.  The Knights will provide the meat for grilling and beverages; you bring a side to share.  Y’all come.

Knights in the Spotlight

Every month, the council leadership would like to put the spotlight on new members or a Knight that exemplifies the ideals of the Knights of Columbus.

Our Foundation

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by blessed Father Michael McGivney in New Haven, CT.  Our council is based on the principles he identified of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. We are sponsored by the St. Francis of Assisi parish in Castle Rock, Colorado with the intentions to increase the faith of our members, their families, and the parish as a whole through prayer and service.

Our Founder

The founder of the Knights of Columbus, Father Michael J. McGivney was a central figure in the growth of Catholicism in America, and he remains a model today.

His example of charity, evangelization and empowerment of the laity continues to bear fruit and guide Knights of Columbus around the world.

Our Parish

Welcome to our parish dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi!  We have been working to make saints with Jesus in his Catholic Church since 1888,  We are happy to have you with us!

Becoming more and more like Jesus was the mission of Francis.

 It’s our mission, too!

Our Faith

Our goal is to help men, their families and their parishes grow closer to Christ. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith.
